Peec AI alternatives: 8 tools and when each one beats Peec

Peec AI is the default pick for a lot of in-house teams, and for good reason. Its three-model cap is where most buyers start looking elsewhere. Here's what Peec does well and where each alternative wins.

Short answerThe best Peec AI alternatives are Scrunch (seven engines on every plan from $300 a month), SE Ranking (AI tracking inside an SEO suite from $129), ZeroRank (cheapest per answer, built for agencies), Profound (enterprise), AthenaHQ (free tier, 11 models on Starter), LLM Pulse, Otterly.AI and Ahrefs Brand Radar. Peec stays the better buy for focused in-house tracking.
Key takeaways
  • Peec AI costs $95, $245 or $495 a month for 50, 150 or 350 prompts, and every self-serve plan includes exactly 3 models.
  • A fourth model costs $30 to $140 a month depending on the plan, so five-engine coverage on Pro adds $140 to the bill.
  • Scrunch Starter tracks 350 prompts on 7 engines for $300 a month; Peec charges $495 for 350 prompts on 3.
  • By our math from published allowances, Peec Starter works out to about $21 per 1,000 AI answers, AthenaHQ Starter to about $82 and ZeroRank Growth to about $15.
  • Peec raised a $21 million Series A in November 2025 and says more than 3,000 brands and agencies use it.

What does Peec AI do well?

Peec AI is an AI search analytics tool that runs your prompts through assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode every day and reports how often your brand shows up, where, in what tone, and which sources the answers cite. It's based in Berlin. In November 2025 it raised a $21 million Series A led by Singular, bringing total funding to $29 million, and at the time said it had gone from zero to more than $4 million in annual recurring revenue in ten months2 (Tech.eu). Its pricing page now says more than 3,000 brands and agencies use it1.

Three things make it the tool other vendors compare themselves against. Prices are public. Every plan includes unlimited users and daily runs. And the feature list goes deep for the money: share of voice and sentiment against competitors, source classification (competitor, editorial, reference, UGC), gap analysis down to the URL, an ads library showing which prompts carry sponsored placements, SKU-level AI Shopping tracking, crawl insights from CDN logs, and an agent that turns the data into actions1. Not every feature sits on every plan, so check the table before you assume.

What does Peec AI cost?

Peec publishes three self-serve plans and an Enterprise tier on its pricing page1. It also does the volume math for you, which more vendors should copy: monthly AI answers equal prompts times models times runs.

PlanMonthly pricePromptsModelsAI answers a monthProjects
Starter$955034,5001
Pro$245150313,5002
Advanced$495350331,5005, plus multi-country and Looker Studio
EnterpriseCustom (annual)CustomUp to 13CustomUnlimited, plus API and SSO

Annual billing takes 15% off. Extra models are sold per plan: $30 a month on Starter, $70 on Pro and $140 on Advanced, shown at the annual rate.

Where does Peec AI fall short?

The three-model cap is the main reason teams shop around. You choose three engines at setup, and each extra one is a monthly add-on. A team that wants ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode on the Pro plan pays $245 plus two add-ons at $70, so $385 a month. That's still fair, but it erases the headline price gap with tools that include more engines.

Claude is the second gap. On Peec's pricing page it shows up only in the Enterprise model list, next to Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral and Qwen. Claude's share of B2B AI referrals rose from 1.4% to 18.5% in Goodie's data (see our AI search statistics), so for some teams that alone forces a second tool or an Enterprise conversation.

Smaller frictions come up too. Tracking several countries starts at Advanced ($495), API access sits on Enterprise, and agencies get a separate bundle you have to ask about. None of these are flaws in what Peec measures. They're packaging, and packaging decides the bill.

How do the alternatives compare with Peec AI?

Scrunch and AthenaHQ include more engines at entry, SE Ranking and ZeroRank deliver more answers per dollar, and Profound wins on enterprise paperwork. Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pricing page; "not published" means exactly that.

The 8 Peec AI alternatives

Scrunch is the closest like-for-like swap, so it comes first. After that the list moves from enterprise platforms to suites to budget trackers. It isn't a score.

1. Scrunch: more engines for the same prompt count

Scrunch is the alternative to look at if the three-model cap is your problem. Its pricing page lists ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta as coverage, without tying engines to tiers3. Starter costs $300 month to month or $250 a month billed annually, for 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, 3 personas and 3 users. That's the same prompt count as Peec Advanced, with more than twice the engines, for $195 less. Growth is $500 (or $417 annually) for 700 prompts, and Enterprise is custom (Scrunch pricing).

Two caveats before you switch. Scrunch's pricing page doesn't state run frequency, so ask how many answers sit behind those 350 prompts before you compare cost per answer. And Sitecore acquired Scrunch in June 2026, which is good news if you run Sitecore and worth a roadmap question if you don't. Extra seats cost $25 a month each, while Peec includes unlimited users.

2. Profound: the enterprise option

Profound's Enterprise plan runs a custom prompt plan daily on up to nine engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search), with all-time history, CSV and JSON exports, an API, SSO/SAML and SOC 24. No paid price is published. The free trial runs 50 prompts that Profound picks, daily for 7 days, on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, and you can't edit them (Profound pricing).

Pick it over Peec if a procurement team will ask for SOC 2 and SSO on day one and you have the budget for a sales-led contract. If you just want your own 150 prompts tracked on five engines, Profound is more platform than the job needs. Our Profound alternatives page covers that head to head.

3. AthenaHQ: the free start with the most models

AthenaHQ's free Essential tier gives you 300 credits and a $25 starting credit across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot. Starter, at $295 a month, adds AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral for 11 models and 3,600 credits; one credit is one AI response5 (AthenaHQ pricing). Starter also bundles a content optimization agent and on-page and off-page recommendations.

The model list beats Peec's. The volume doesn't. 3,600 answers a month across 11 models is about 11 prompts a day if every prompt runs on every model, while Peec Starter delivers 4,500 answers for $95. AthenaHQ is the better choice when breadth of models and content actions matter more than daily depth on a big prompt set. API access and extra credits are priced through sales. We compare its own alternatives on the AthenaHQ alternatives page.

4. SE Ranking: AI tracking inside an SEO suite

SE Ranking is the pick for SEO teams who'd rather not pay for a separate AI tool. Core costs $129 a month ($103.20 billed annually) and includes 100 prompts tracked daily on 5 LLMs, AI competitive research for 5 domains and unlimited AI source tracking, alongside the usual rank tracking and audits. Growth, at $279, raises that to 250 prompts6 (SE Ranking pricing). Its separate AI Search add-on names AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and ChatGPT. The trial is 14 days with no card.

On paper that's twice Peec Starter's prompts for $34 more, plus a full SEO toolkit. What you give up is depth: SE Ranking doesn't list Claude or Copilot, and Peec goes further on source classification, shopping and brand perception.

5. ZeroRank: the agency and volume pick

ZeroRank sells AI answers instead of prompts and lets you spend them across 17 platforms, with unlimited prompts, models, countries and seats, white-label dashboards, an MCP server and a REST API on every plan7. Starter is $39 a month for up to 2,400 answers and 1 workspace, Growth $199 for 13,500 answers and 10 workspaces, and Agency $499 for 31,500 answers and unlimited workspaces (ZeroRank pricing).

Line those up against Peec and the answer counts are identical at Growth and Agency (13,500 and 31,500), at a lower price and with workspaces built for clients. The gap is Google AI Mode, which ZeroRank's pricing page doesn't name among its platforms. If AI Mode is on your must-have list, test it in the free report before you buy.

6. LLM Pulse: Google's AI surfaces on every plan

LLM Pulse includes five engines on every plan: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. Weekly plans start at 49 euros a month for 50 prompts, 99 euros for 150 and 299 euros for 450, and daily tracking is a separate, higher price set (79, 149 and 449 euros). Extra models such as Claude, Copilot and Grok start at 8 euros a model a month8 (LLM Pulse pricing).

Weekly Starter, Growth and Scale include a 14-day trial, but it asks for a card. It suits a team whose buyers search on Google and who can live with weekly data on the long tail.

7. Otterly.AI: the cheapest real tracker

Otterly.AI's Lite plan is $29 a month for 15 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot; Standard is $189 for 100 prompts and Premium $489 for 4009. AI Mode and Gemini are add-ons ($9 each on Lite, $59 on Standard) and Claude costs $29 on Lite or $109 on Standard (Otterly.AI pricing).

Fifteen prompts is a sample, not a program, so treat Lite as a way to get a baseline while you build the case for a bigger tool. Standard with AI Mode, Gemini and Claude added comes to $416 a month, more than Peec Pro.

8. Ahrefs Brand Radar: benchmarks without a prompt list

Brand Radar flips the method. Instead of starting from your prompts, it shows any brand's visibility across an index Ahrefs puts at more than 470 million prompts, covering AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot11. It's an add-on from $199 a month, and custom prompt packages start at $50 a month for 2,500 checks, where one prompt on one platform in one location is one check (Ahrefs pricing)10.

Use it to see which competitors AI already favors across a category in an afternoon. Don't use it as your only tracker for revenue prompts: index prompts are modeled from search data and won't match how your buyers phrase things.

What does an AI answer cost on each tool?

Vendors price on prompts, answers or credits, so headline prices don't compare. Converting each plan to cost per 1,000 answers fixes that. These are our calculations from the allowances each vendor publishes, assuming every answer is used:

Tool and plan Price/mo Answers/mo Per 1,000 answers
Peec AI Starter $95 4,500 $21.10
Peec AI Advanced $495 31,500 $15.70
ZeroRank Growth $199 13,500 $14.70
AthenaHQ Starter $295 3,600 $81.90
Ahrefs custom prompts Basic $50 2,500 $20.00 (used with an Ahrefs plan)
Semrush AI Visibility $99 1,500 (*) $66.00
(*) 25 prompts x 2 engines x 30 daily runs

Scrunch, Otterly.AI and SE Ranking don't publish run frequency on their pricing pages in a way that lets you compute this, so ask them. And remember what the number can't tell you: a SparkToro and Gumshoe study found under a 1 in 100 chance that AI tools return the same brand list twice for a prompt13 (Search Engine Journal). Cheap answers are only useful if you run enough of them to average out that noise.

Which Peec AI alternative should you pick?

Start from why Peec doesn't fit, then follow the rule that matches:

  • If you need five or more engines on more than 150 prompts, trial Scrunch Starter. At that size Peec means Advanced plus two model add-ons, $775 a month, against Scrunch's $300.
  • If Claude is a must and your budget is under $500, choose between Scrunch (Claude on its listed coverage) and AthenaHQ Starter.
  • If you already pay for an SEO suite, test SE Ranking Core or the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit ($99, 25 prompts on ChatGPT and AI Mode)12 for a month before buying anything else.
  • If you manage five or more clients, price ZeroRank Growth against Peec's agency bundle on the same answer count.
  • If you're under $50 a month, use Otterly.AI Lite or ZeroRank Starter and track only your 15 to 25 most commercial prompts.
  • If you need SSO, SOC 2 and a vendor-run program, shortlist Profound and Peec Enterprise and get answer volumes and retention in writing.

Before any of that, find out whether AI engines mention you at all. A quick run of the free Arobis AI visibility checker, or one of the free AI visibility checkers we compared, will tell you whether you have a tracking problem or a visibility problem. The guide to measuring AI visibility covers how to build a prompt set worth paying to track.

Our takeMost teams don't need to leave Peec; they need to stop paying for a fourth model they rarely read. Before switching, check which engines your buyers use (your analytics referrals will tell you) and drop the one that sends nothing. Switch when the packaging truly blocks you: Claude coverage, many clients, or a big prompt set across five or more engines. In those cases Scrunch, ZeroRank and SE Ranking each beat Peec on price for the same job. Judge any of them on citation rate and mention rate over many runs, never on a single "rank".

Frequently asked questions

How much does Peec AI cost?

Peec AI's pricing page lists Starter at $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro at $245 for 150 prompts and Advanced at $495 for 350 prompts, each with 3 models, daily tracking and unlimited users. Enterprise is custom and tracks up to 13 models. Annual billing takes 15% off, and a fourth model costs extra on every self-serve plan.

What is the best Peec AI alternative?

It depends on why you are leaving. For more engines at the same prompt count, Scrunch: its $300 Starter covers 350 prompts on seven engines, the prompt count of Peec's $495 Advanced plan. For an SEO suite with AI tracking built in, SE Ranking. For agencies on a budget, ZeroRank. For enterprise procurement, Profound.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Peec AI?

Yes. Otterly.AI Lite costs $29 a month for 15 prompts, ZeroRank Starter $39 for up to 2,400 AI answers, and LLM Pulse Starter 49 euros a month for 50 prompts on five engines with weekly runs. AthenaHQ also has a free tier with 300 credits. Check the answer volume, not just the price, because cheap plans often run weekly.

Does Peec AI track Claude and Perplexity?

Perplexity, yes: it is one of the models you can pick on any plan or add as an extra model. Claude is a different story. On Peec's pricing page, Claude appears only in the Enterprise model list alongside Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral and others. If Claude matters to your buyers, Scrunch and AthenaHQ Starter both list it on published plans.

Peec AI vs Profound: which is better?

For most mid-market teams, Peec AI, because it publishes prices from $95 a month and lets you load your own prompts from day one. Profound publishes no paid prices, and its free trial runs 50 prompts Profound chooses. Profound makes more sense for large enterprises that want up to nine engines, all-time history and SSO in one contract.

Can I move my prompts from Peec AI to another tool?

Yes, if you export them first. Peec lists custom CSV exports in its feature table, and API access sits on Enterprise. Export your prompt list, tags and competitor set, then run both tools side by side for two to four weeks, because a new tool samples answers differently and your trend lines will break at the switch.
