ReferenceAI visibility checker
Check whether ChatGPT names your brand for the questions your buyers ask, and who it names instead. By Arobis AI.
FreeThe four AI Ranked tools run in your browser: no sign-up, no network requests, nothing stored. The AI visibility checker is a separate service run by Arobis AI, the publisher of AI Ranked.
Which tool first?
Start with the robots.txt checker, then the citability grader, then the visibility checker. Access comes first because a well-written page that blocks OAI-SearchBot will never be cited in ChatGPT search.
- If AI assistants send you almost no traffic and you don't know why, run the robots.txt checker. It takes two minutes and rules out the one problem that makes everything else pointless.
- If the bots can get in and you still never see a citation, put your three most important pages through the citability grader. Anything under 55 needs a rewrite before anything else.
- If you honestly don't know whether engines cite you, run the AI visibility checker on your category's buyer questions. You need a baseline before you can tell if a fix worked.
- Once all of that holds up, add Organization and Article markup with the schema generator, and an llms.txt if you have developer docs. Both are housekeeping. Neither will rescue a page that fails steps 1 or 2.
robots.txt AI checker: are you blocking the bots that cite you?
The checker tells you, bot by bot, whether your robots.txt lets AI crawlers reach a given path. Most AI companies now run separate crawlers for training, search and user requests, and an old blanket rule written to stop training scrapers often blocks the search agents too. Paste your robots.txt and the checker shows each of 21 AI user agents as allowed or blocked on any path, with the exact line responsible.
Use it when you launch a site, change CDN or bot settings, or see AI referrals drop. A typical finding: The Guardian's live file allows 10 of the 21 agents, letting OpenAI's crawlers through while blocking Anthropic's and Perplexity's. Mixed policies like that are common: in our study of 261 top sites' robots.txt files, 31 of the 59 sites that block GPTBot still let OAI-SearchBot in. If a search agent you care about shows red on your pricing page, that's your first fix. Open the robots.txt checker.
Citability grader: would an engine quote this page?
The grader scores how easy your page is for an AI engine to quote, from 0 to 100 across 12 checks. AI answers are built from short passages lifted out of pages, so the checks are weighted toward a direct answer in the opening, specific numbers and linked sources, the changes that did best in the 2023 GEO study.
It's for whoever writes or edits the page, before publishing or when an important page isn't getting cited. A typical marketing intro that warms up before answering scores under 30. Our worked example on the tool page goes from 17 to 78 with one rewrite. Fix the 12-point checks first. Open the citability grader.
llms.txt generator: a clean index for agents
llms.txt is a proposed Markdown file listing your most useful pages for language models. Google's AI features guide says Google Search ignores it, so it isn't a ranking tactic. It's most useful if you publish developer docs that coding assistants and agents read.
Fill in a name, a one-line summary and your key pages; the generator writes a spec-compliant file and flags relative URLs and duplicates. A good result is short: Vercel's real file has about 25 links for an entire platform. Open the llms.txt generator.
Schema generator: consistent facts in JSON-LD
The schema generator builds Article, Organization, FAQPage, HowTo and SoftwareApplication markup and checks it against Google's required and recommended properties. Use it when you launch a site, add a blog template or notice your company name and logo vary from page to page.
Expect zero errors and a few warnings for recommended fields you skipped; fill those you can support with facts on the page. Don't expect it to get you into AI answers. Google says no special markup is needed for that. Open the schema generator.
AI visibility checker: does ChatGPT name you?
The visibility checker runs buyer-style prompts through ChatGPT and shows whether your brand is named and who gets named instead. The other tools look at your site; this one looks at the answers. It's run by Arobis AI, the AI search demand generation agency for B2B SaaS that publishes AI Ranked. Take a baseline with it before you change anything and re-check a month later. It's the last card at the top of this page.
When you outgrow one-off checks, our roundup of the 11 best AI visibility tools compares the paid trackers, and the GEO agency ranking covers outside help if you'd rather hand the work off.
