- Otterly.AI costs $29, $189 or $489 a month for 15, 100 or 400 prompts, tracked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.
- Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons. Claude alone costs $439 a month on Premium, close to the price of the plan itself.
- By our math from published allowances, Otterly Premium works out to about $10 per 1,000 AI answers, cheaper than Peec AI Advanced (about $16) and ZeroRank Agency (about $16).
- For a 100-prompt team that wants seven engines, Otterly with add-ons costs $416 a month, against $300 for Scrunch Starter.
- Lite can't add prompts and has one workspace, which is the most common reason small teams outgrow it.
What is Otterly.AI good at?
Otterly.AI monitors how AI search engines mention your brand and cite your site, and adds prompt research, content audits and recommendations on top2 (Otterly.AI). It's an Austrian company, and in a November 2025 release it said Gartner had named it a Cool Vendor in its 2025 Cool Vendors for AI in Marketing report3 (GlobeNewswire). Cool Vendor is a research label, not a product test.
Its strengths are mostly about packaging. Prices are public and low at the bottom end. Every plan tracks daily, includes unlimited team members and supports 50+ countries. It's also the only tool in this comparison with Microsoft Copilot in the base package, which matters if your buyers live inside Microsoft 365. Standard and Premium add a Looker Studio connector, API and MCP requests, and agent analytics events for AI bot traffic1.
So the question isn't whether Otterly is good. It's whether its add-on model still fits once your prompt set or engine list grows.
What does Otterly.AI cost once you add engines?
The base plans are simple1 (Otterly pricing):
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Prompts | Workspaces | URL audits a month | Can add prompts? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $29 | $25 | 15 | 1 | 1,000 | No |
| Standard | $189 | $160 | 100 | Unlimited | 5,000 | Yes, +100 for $99, up to +300 |
| Premium | $489 | $422 | 400 | Unlimited | 10,000 | Yes, +100 for $99 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | From 1,000 | Unlimited | Custom | Custom |
The engines outside the base four are where the bill changes. Monthly add-on prices per plan:
| Add-on engine | Lite | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AI Mode | $9 | $59 | $149 |
| Gemini | $9 | $59 | $149 |
| Claude | $29 | $109 | $439 |
| All three | $47 | $227 | $737 |
| Plan plus all three | $76 | $416 | $1,226 |
Seven-engine Premium costs 2.5 times the headline price. That's the moment most teams start comparing. Agencies that join Otterly's partner program get 150 prompts on Standard and 500 on Premium, which softens the math for them.
Cost per 1,000 AI answers: Otterly against the field
The cleanest way to compare trackers is answers per dollar, where one answer is one prompt run once on one engine. We calculated it from each vendor's published allowances at monthly billing. For Otterly we assume each prompt runs daily on its four default engines over 30 days. Vendors don't all define a "prompt" the same way, so treat this as a guide to order of magnitude.
| Plan | Price a month | AI answers a month | Cost per 1,000 answers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Otterly.AI Lite | $29 | 1,800 (15 x 4 x 30) | $16.11 |
| Otterly.AI Standard | $189 | 12,000 (100 x 4 x 30) | $15.75 |
| Otterly.AI Premium | $489 | 48,000 (400 x 4 x 30) | $10.19 |
| Peec AI Starter | $95 | 4,500 (stated) | $21.11 |
| Peec AI Advanced | $495 | 31,500 (stated) | $15.71 |
| ZeroRank Starter | $39 | 2,400 (stated) | $16.25 |
| ZeroRank Growth | $199 | 13,500 (stated) | $14.74 |
| SE Ranking Core | $129 | 15,000 if all 100 prompts run daily on 5 LLMs | $8.60 |
| LLM Pulse Starter (weekly) | 49 euros | about 1,083 (50 x 5 x 4.33) | about 45 euros |
| AthenaHQ Starter | $295 | 3,600 credits | $81.94 |
Otterly Premium is among the cheapest answers you can buy, and only SE Ranking beats it, if its prompts do run on all five LLMs daily. Otterly loses ground when you count engines rather than answers, because three of the engines buyers increasingly use are extras. We keep the full vendor-by-vendor math in our AI visibility tool pricing study.
Which alternative fits your team? Three worked scenarios
The three teams below are hypothetical, and every price comes from the vendor's public page at monthly billing.
Scenario 1: a consultant or seed-stage startup, 25 prompts
Otterly Lite stops at 15 prompts and can't buy more, so the real choice is Lite plus discipline, or a different tool. ZeroRank Starter ($39) covers about 26 prompts daily on three models. LLM Pulse Starter (49 euros) gives 50 prompts on five models, weekly. Peec AI Starter ($95) gives 50 prompts on three models, daily. Our pick for most people here is ZeroRank Starter for daily data, or LLM Pulse if you want Gemini and AI Mode included and can live with weekly runs.
Scenario 2: an in-house team, 100 prompts on seven engines
| Option | Setup | Monthly cost | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Otterly.AI | Standard + AI Mode + Gemini + Claude | $416 | Daily, Copilot included |
| Scrunch | Starter, 350 prompts | $300 | 7 engines incl. Meta, no Copilot; run frequency not published |
| SE Ranking | Core, 100 prompts, 5 LLMs | $129 | LLMs not named on pricing page; check Claude |
| Peec AI | Pro (150 prompts, 3 models) + 2 models at $70 (annual add-on rate) | $385 | Five engines, no Claude outside Enterprise |
| LLM Pulse | Growth, 150 prompts, 5 models | 99 euros plus Claude add-on | Weekly runs |
Scrunch gives the most coverage per dollar here. SE Ranking is the bargain if its five LLMs match your list and you'll use the SEO suite too. Otterly is the right answer only if Copilot is non-negotiable.
Scenario 3: an agency, 10 clients at 40 prompts each
That's 400 prompts. Otterly Premium ($489) fits exactly, with unlimited workspaces and 100 extra prompts for partner agencies. ZeroRank Agency ($499) gives 31,500 answers and unlimited workspaces, which covers 350 prompts daily on three models, so you'd run some clients weekly. LLM Pulse offers partner plans from 25 client projects and 3,600 prompts with white-label options, priced on request7. For a 10-client agency on four engines, Otterly Premium is genuinely competitive and we'd only move for white-label reporting or engine choice per client.
The 8 Otterly.AI alternatives in detail
1. ZeroRank
ZeroRank prices by answers, not prompts: $39 a month for 2,400, $199 for 13,500 and $499 for 31,500, across any of 17 AI platforms with no per-model add-ons, seat charges or minimum term5 (ZeroRank pricing). You can schedule each prompt daily, weekly, monthly or on demand from the same budget, and Growth includes up to 10 workspaces. The pricing page doesn't list the 17 platforms, and it notes that higher-cost models use more budget, so check how your engines are metered. Pick it over Otterly when you'd otherwise pay for add-on engines.
2. LLM Pulse
LLM Pulse includes ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini on every plan: 49 euros for 50 prompts, 99 for 150 and 299 for 450, at weekly tracking7 (LLM Pulse pricing). Daily tracking costs more, extra prompts are 1 euro each, and extra models start at 8 euros. Against Otterly it wins on Gemini and AI Mode coverage at a low price, and loses on Copilot and on daily data at the entry price.
3. Peec AI
Peec AI costs $95, $245 or $495 a month for 50, 150 or 350 prompts on three models you choose, tracked daily with unlimited users4 (Peec pricing). It goes deeper than Otterly on analysis: source classification by type, URL-level gap analysis, an ads library, shopping tracking by SKU and crawler logs from CDN integrations. Claude is Enterprise only. Choose Peec when analysis depth matters more than engine count. Our Peec AI alternatives page compares it further.
4. SE Ranking
SE Ranking's Core plan ($129 a month) bundles 100 prompts tracked daily on 5 LLMs with its full SEO toolkit, and Growth ($279) raises that to 250 prompts6 (SE Ranking pricing). The 14-day trial needs no card. For a team paying for Otterly and a rank tracker separately, this can replace both. Confirm which five LLMs it tracks, since the pricing page doesn't say.
5. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush sells its AI Visibility Toolkit for $99 a month with 25 tracked prompts, plus 50 more for $60 a month; Semrush One plans include 50 to 2008 (Semrush knowledge base). It adds an AI visibility score, competitor research, prompt research, sentiment and an AI search site audit. Prompt tracking names Google AI Mode and ChatGPT. It makes sense if you already live in Semrush; on prompt volume alone, Otterly Standard gives four times the prompts for less than twice the price. Our Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit review goes deeper.
6. Scrunch
Scrunch Starter costs $300 a month ($250 billed annually) for 350 prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta, with a 7-day no-card trial9 (Scrunch pricing). Sitecore announced its acquisition of Scrunch in June 2026. It's the natural upgrade for an Otterly customer who keeps adding engines, as the worked scenario above shows. See Scrunch AI alternatives for its own weak spots.
7. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ has a free Essential tier with 300 credits and a $25 credit on five models, and a $295 Starter plan with 3,600 credits on 11 models, including Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral10 (AthenaHQ pricing). One credit is one response. It's the broadest model list here and includes a content optimization agent, but 3,600 answers a month is a third of what Otterly Standard delivers for less money.
8. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Brand Radar draws on Ahrefs' database of more than 470 million monthly prompts across AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude, with custom prompt tracking from 47 euros a month and an AI Visibility Index from 179 euros11 (Ahrefs Brand Radar). Use it to see your category from prompts you didn't write, then keep a cheaper tracker like Otterly for the prompts you did.
Before you switch: three checks that save money
- Prune engines by referrals. Open your analytics, filter referral traffic from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, copilot.microsoft.com and claude.ai, and drop any add-on engine that sent nothing in 90 days.
- Prune prompts by intent. Cut prompts nobody would type before buying. A tight set of 60 buyer prompts beats 300 loose ones, and it might keep you on a cheaper plan.
- Confirm you have a visibility problem at all. A free one-off scan shows whether engines already mention you before you pay to track it. Our comparison of free AI visibility checkers covers ten of them, with what each one actually tests.
Tracking is the cheap half of the job. If the numbers come back low, the work is in getting cited and named; our guide to measuring AI visibility explains which numbers to watch, and the ChatGPT rank tracker comparison covers single-engine tools.
How to switch without losing your trend line
The risk in changing trackers is that your history stops making sense. Two tools will report different mention rates for the same prompts, because they query engines from different locations, at different times and sometimes through different interfaces. If you switch cold, the first month in the new tool will look like a jump or a drop that never happened.
The fix is a short overlap. Every Otterly plan includes detailed reports and export1, so start there:
- Export your Otterly reports for the last 90 days, plus the prompt list itself.
- Load the identical prompt list into the new tool. Same wording, same country, same competitors.
- Run both tools in parallel for at least two weeks on the engines they share.
- Compare mention rate per engine. If the gap is steady (say the new tool reads 4 points lower every week), record it as an offset and keep reporting the old series with that note.
- Cancel only after the offset holds for two consecutive weeks. Otterly says subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from account settings.
A simple sheet keeps the overlap honest:
week | engine | prompts | otterly_mention_rate | new_tool_mention_rate | gap
W1 | ChatGPT | 100 | 31% | 27% | -4
W1 | Perplexity | 100 | 22% | 23% | +1
W2 | ChatGPT | 100 | 29% | 25% | -4
The numbers above are illustrative. In practice, a gap that swings by more than about 10 points week to week usually means the prompt lists don't match, or one tool is querying a different country. Fix that before you trust either number.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Otterly.AI cost?
Otterly.AI Lite costs $29 a month for 15 prompts, Standard $189 for 100 and Premium $489 for 400, with lower per-month rates on annual billing ($25, $160 and $422). All three track daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Gemini, AI Mode and Claude cost extra, and Enterprise starts at 1,000 prompts with custom pricing.
Does Otterly.AI track Claude and Gemini?
Yes, as paid add-ons. Gemini and Google AI Mode each cost $9, $59 or $149 a month on Lite, Standard and Premium. Claude costs $29, $109 or $439. The four engines included in every plan are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, so a seven-engine setup on Premium totals $1,226 a month.
What is the cheapest Otterly.AI alternative?
ZeroRank Starter at $39 a month for up to 2,400 AI answers, or LLM Pulse Starter at 49 euros for 50 prompts on five models tracked weekly. Otterly Lite itself is cheaper at $29, so look elsewhere at that budget only if you need more than 15 prompts or engines beyond its default four.
Is Otterly.AI good for agencies?
Yes, more than its low entry price suggests. Standard and Premium include unlimited workspaces and team members, partner agencies get extra prompts (150 on Standard, 500 on Premium), and there's a Looker Studio connector and API. Its pricing page doesn't advertise white-label dashboards, which ZeroRank and LLM Pulse partner plans do, and that matters if clients see the reports directly.
Otterly.AI or Peec AI: which is better?
Otterly is cheaper per answer at scale and includes Copilot; Peec goes deeper on analysis, with source classification, URL-level gap analysis, an ads library and shopping tracking. For 100 prompts on four engines, Otterly Standard costs $189 against $315 for Peec Pro with one added model (the add-on at its annual rate). Choose Peec if your team will act on the extra analysis.
